In terms of what I consider to be the “Right” way to do things, the current dominant attitude in real estate just does not make the cut. Today, we are going to reveal the greatest weapon that real estate agents will bring out to get you to make an emotional rather than a rational decision. It is a tool  that is taught by EVERYONE in real estate. On its own, it is not a bad thing. To one degree or another, we all do it every day. However, when this tool is taken to the degree that you embrace the ‘small deception’ – which is standard operating procedure in the world of real estate – you are crossing a line that leads to an attitude that too easily can brush the truth aside for more and more critical issues – which is a bad thing.

The problem with real estate is inventory, not rates

The media keeps telling us that the problem in real estate is rates. They are wrong.

This may not always be true, but right now, the only problem we have in real estate is inventory – plain and simple. So today, we are going to look at hard data. This data shows that whatever rates are right now, they are not stopping anyone from jumping in to pay ridiculous prices for real estate. Here are the graphs I promised in the show:

Why is deception such a common part of real estate?

Real estate agents, buyers, sellers and investors should all know the sneaky truth.

real estateWe have talked a number of times about the casual deceptions that crop up in real estate. It seems like it is infused into the fabric of the real estate business… like small pox infected blankets. They are nice and warm at the start and make you feel secure only to be the thing that results in your undoing in the end. Sadly, it is everywhere. The system is built on it and separating it seems nearly impossible at times. I was recently looking into different contact management software for managing folks who respond to my marketing. Included in most is some sort of autoresponding drip campaign setup. Nearly all of them come with default responses and they all have elements that embrace this idea of the casual deception being OK. We are going to take some time to chat about that today.
