Real Estate Realities LIVE

Real Estate Realities with The RebelBroker started in January of 2007. The idea at the time was to share with the buying, selling and investing world my take on the world of real estate. In all honesty, it started off as a warning and a way to vent my frustrations with the business. There are so many misconceptions, crappy agents and bad assumptions floating around in the real estate business that the typical consumer needs to be warned. For over 20 years I have been watching the world of real estate from the inside. The view from here has often been an eye opener and I want to share that perspective with all of you.

It has been a long time since that first show. Over the years we have covered some of the biggest lies and intentionally promoted myths of the real estate world. The show as it exists today covers anything and everything even vaguely associated with the world of real estate. This will often mean dipping into politics, economics and other hot topics that help shape how the market exists today and how it will evolve in the future.

Now that the show is live, listeners can call in and ask questions or offer their perspective on the topics being discussed. But your options for participating are not limited to just calling in. You can:

Robert,

Your show is on my “must listen to” podcast list. I recently listened to the February 24th show, and found it very interesting as always. I thought your thoughts regarding how it would be much easier for the bank to evict a renter than than foreclose on the owner were especially interesting. That was an excellent point.

One thing that I did not agree with you about is BoA being in trouble. You appear to be basing most of this speculation on rumors and one or two statements about cutting back on pension plans. If the housing crisis has taught us one thing, it is that the government won’t let big banks fail. In addition, here is a link to more information regarding the pension cut backs. It obviously has to do with saving moneying, but I don’t think it is a sign that the bank is in trouble.

By the way, I couldn’t agree more that dealing with BoA is a disaster to deal with. We financed out last rental property with BoA due to the specific program we went with. My wife ended up calling 10s of times, resending all of our paper work multiple times, dealing with multiple people because BoA had terminated our loan officier in the middle of the process, and finally closing after 3 months. The most aggrivating aspect of the entire horrible process was that when we were finally close to closing, the bank almost rejected the loan because the whole process had taken so long, which they tried to blame on us. We of course had a long email trail showing that we responded immediately to their many, many requests. What an absolute disaster.

Another comment is that I find it very hard to find a specific show on your website and then comment on it. For instance, I couldn’t find anything regarding the February 24th show.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for getting in touch. I think there is plenty of room for lots of theories about BofA. Some of their actions appear to be out of desperation, but some could see that as simply trying to work through what they have. Time will tell. As for some of the Feb shows. I found an issue with the iTunes feed that prevented updating for a while in Feb. Since iTunes is the most popular way for folks to get at my show, it effected quite a few people. This issue is now dealt with and all should be working smoothly. You should also see that you have access to the shows that originally failed to show up.

Thanks,
R
